Uttrykksfull og god solist, med fin klang og musisering. Bra!
Akkompagnementet kunne generelt vært svakere, slik at solisten kunne komme mer igjennok uten å forsere klang og
spillestil.
D: mye bedre balansert her. Vakkert av både solist og korps!
Shine as the Light
Godt åpningstempo, kunne generelt vært litt mer transparent og eksakt rytmisk.
Før C: godt tempovalgt. Generelt: kunne vært strammet inn noe rent rytmisk. Ikke alltid perfekt presisjon, er jeg
redd.
K: Vakkert samspill kornett / euphonium.
Ikke alltid perfekt renhet fra L, heller ikke i mutede instrumenter.
M: Igjen godt tempovalg. Fin framoverrettet flyt i spillet. Men igjen: kunne vært litt mer transparent i lydbildet flere
steder.
God overgang til U. Bra!
Fin og bred spillestil fra, men det dynamiske er bare forte, slik at det brilliante høydepunktet med ff fra X ble for lite
framhevet i sammenhengen og fff
Men en god og solid avslutning.

Prelude To A New Age
A good clean opening section with lovely light feel at A. Great dynamic contrasts throughout and a nice careful
balance where I always hear the melody. Lovely sounds from euphoniums and in particular horns at E. A very
effective contrast here, well done. A very enjoyable performance with a great final note!
With Fire and Sword
Exciting opening, effective horns, you really achieve the atmosphere here. Not always clear on semi quavers comets
at C. Good basses and percussion throughout, you punctuate the rhythm well. Not quite together at H. Another
excellent ending.
The Holy Well (Euphonium Soloist)
Good, confident soloist and lovely interaction with flugel and horn in the obligato parts. You really sound like you are
all trying to communicate with each other which I am really enjoying. You also play sympathetically for the soloist.
Basses just take care with intonation before D. Soloist, thankyou for an expressive and musical performance. You
have a lovely sound, maybe take a few more risks with dynamics to increase expression, but overall a really beautiful
performance.
Shine As The Light
Not quite together at the beginning, euphs/baris with the rest of the band. Good bongos at C. A little too much for me
troms/cornets bar 39. Again it just rocks at bar 50. Nice horns at D. Lovely euph bar 93. Bravo cornet and euph, really
expressive and once again you are communicating and listening to each other. Cornet take more risk at L, it’s your
solo! More accents at M horns and bads. Again it is not always together throughout this section. Successful aleatoric
section. V sounds joyful and controlled, but just the odd tuning incident at times. Another great ending!
Overall a really enjopyable performance today, thank you! Some really musical and expressive playing with a very
effective programme. I also enjoyed the interation between the musicians very much. Thank you all and very well
done!
